Scarred not Scared !

I salute the brave-hearts who have been a victim of acid attacks.

Stop Acid Attacks is a campaign against acid violence in India.

 They work as a bridge between survivors and the society,

 as most of the victims of this brutal crime,

 which is much more grave in its impact than a rape,

 have isolated themselves after losing their face.

 They have lost their faces their eyes and other body parts

 but not their strong hearts and beautiful souls!

They all are facing the repercussions

 of those barbaric acts with confidence unmatchable!

They may be Scarred but not Scared !!

You can scar me

But not scare

I am even stronger

Fearless and I still do dare…

Each scar sings

The melody

Of my triumph

And your defeat…

My quiet scars

Speak a thousand thunders

And I still wear my invisible crown

How? … Everyone wonders!

Because I have accepted

And embraced them all

I am what I am

Unshakable and very tall…

I will dare,

Inspite of all my scars

To paint my own rainbows

And light up my own stars!!

                                                

Memories

I am back !

The August break is always a welcome change

 for me and my family 

and since it is a time we go back 

to our homeland,

it is always... always a lot of fun.

A huge collection of beautiful moments spent with family and friends...

travels to some unseen places....

more than a thousand photographs in my camera...

some delightful gastronomical experiences...

inspiration from the mountains I trekked 

and the clouds that  entered my room through my balcony...

 the beaches I visited 

and the swaying coconut trees lined on those beaches....

the strangers I met and the old friends I laughed with...

the everyday changes in the light ,colour, shadow, brightness

the rain showers...the singing birds

reminding me again and again that I was in my own land

....oh there is so much in my pockets right now

 which I would be sharing with you all here

 through my posts!!

Just Listen

I surrendered myself

to the moment

and then in a flash

felt it injecting

tons of joy boosters

into my veins

each tiny peck

clinging to the other..

tenderly

caressing each other

once they were all inside me...

began to create a beautiful mosaic

incomparable

magical...musical

and I could listen ...

yes I could listen to

the beats of love.. sprouting

from the tiny tree of life

in my heart...

wowness... bringing

a smile to my eyes

...wider than sky

and bliss was all over me!!

and I embraced it all !!

UNSHAKABLE

 Henosis is the amalgamated world of two artists,

 combining their unique styles to bring forth a new dimension of morphed reality.

I love to draw and paint

 the themes that are unusual and off the beat.

Now what do you say 

when you hear from Henosis 

that they are holding an exhibition

 and the theme is 

"22 ways to Kill your Boss"

 I know you already have that smile on your face and tightened fists.

Why 22 ? Because 22 artists were chosen to display their emotions :)

Now since I do not have a conventional boss 

and I am my own boss...

I was in a fix but then

 I immediately realised

 that in the recent past 

certain negative people and 

negative situations have acted quite bossy on me

and I have managed to overcome 

those without harming a soul

 and by managing my anger in a quieter way.

In no time I decided what I wanted to show through my art.

So here is a glimpse 

of the opening night on the 5th of June

for all of you to enjoy !!

I called my painting UNSHAKABLE and here is a short description of what I wanted to show

"I am constantly on a mission to eliminate all sorts of energy vampires around me.

 Now they may be people with negative frame of mind or situations 

but I have taken a pledge to be just me…

a happy, calm, composed, compassionate and peaceful person at heart. 

I would never ever sacrifice my own positive thoughts

 which I treat as my most valuable possession 

and be a slave to such dysfunctional mindsets

 and will keep reflecting the same through my artistic endeavors.

“I will not allow anyone to walk through my mind with their dirty feet”…as is so truly said by Gandhi ji. Through a simple maneuver involving free will and choice, 

I have learnt how to deploy my own thoughts 

to break through limitations,

 turn failure into success,

 and activate my own healing powers.

 The negative, discouraging forces around me continue to show their powers

 but then in spite of these provocative negative forces

 I will continue to stay positive, poised and peaceful."

An incredible experience!!

I recently attended a workshop organized by Artry . 

It was as if I took an adventure into the beautiful world of art

 with charcoals in my hand, 

easels in a very spacious room,

 remarkable peace in the air and

 so many artists and art lovers all around !

As I entered I thought YESS this is it! 

This is the kind of place I wish to be in! 

There were smiling faces to greet me and all.

Artry is a shared vision of a group of artists 

to understand and foster dialogue between artists

 and their practice,

 a space for in-depth explorations into art.

We had to observe the model

 sitting in front of us and

 draw with charcoal.

 All the necessary material was provided to us.

                                                                  We were fortunate                                                             

that we got an opportunity to learn from the best

. Mr. Ram Chandra Babu 

who is an illustrator with Gulf News.

 He was kind enough to share with us 

some good techniques 

while we did a Life Study with him.

 He made a perfect use of his knowledge

 and enthusiasm to encourage us.

The environment as a whole was unintimidating.

I felt extremely positive vibes,

 a sense of tranquility and peace

 flowing in my mind and body 

with an urge to create.

It was amazing

 how all of us saw the subject in a different way.

Each sketch was unique and beautiful.

It was a weekend filled not only with

 art and creativity but also fun and learning.

The call of a heart !

And the brown of my eyes

floating again in the pool of silence

longing to see the new face of love

smiling with astonishing eloquence...

And I wait within my heart

to dance out

the next step

choreographed by... love

to sing aloud

another melody... of love

I know,my smile is precious

when your hand covers mine

cherishing 'that' moment in the moments

I suddenly feel alive...

appearing as I am...

my tears rolling down your cheeks

and I see you turn into many eyes

quietness speaking a thousand thunders

and then those eyes into many hands

as many as the strands of my hair !
...and the brown of my eyes
floating again in the pool of silence !

A slice of moon !

I take a fine slice of moon

place it on my dish

then whip well a cloud

with a delicate wish

next is a wedge of rainbow...

looks quite like a candy

sprinkles of stardust

come in quite handy

a dash of mist for the dressing

and a generous squeeze of rain

then I stir in a lot of love

with passion insane

flambe it with my breaths

a pinch of love again for the garnish

the divine soul food is ready...

to go straight through your eyes

to your heart... in less than a while

and my eyes

wait to see the taste

on your rather lyrical smile.
