Joy forever !!

Sometimes I wonder

about my ever growing love

for peacocks...

Is it the grandeur of the blue

that it proudly boasts of

or the brilliant strokes of green

and purple that adorn its feathers...

Is it the shining neck

or the playful shining hearts on its tail...

Is it the large striking eyes

gazing beyond their range

or the music of its heart

coming out through its crown...

Is it the way it dances

to celebrate its gorgeousness

or the way

 it gracefully carries itself...

Oh I still wonder

if it is the compassion it symbolizes

or the fact that despite all the flaws and imperfection

each feather has...

collectively they create a beauty

 that is joy forever !!

October inspirations !!

Hi friends

October is here...

"Bitter sweet October...

 The mellow, messy,leaf-licking,

 perfect pause between

the opposing miseries of

summer and winter"

...Carol Bishop Hipps

Are you glad you live in a world where we have Octobers ??

Are you all "shining your light" ???

With the bliss in the air

and the luster in the sky

a cup of hot spiced tea

and a sparkle in my eye

My "Mithai Tamasha" !!

Food is so visual ...and so why can't Recipe writing be ??

Proud as a peacock I am, to be a trumpet blower !!

Yes my Indian Sweets Recipe Illustrations have been published

in my favorite online magazine called The Indian Trumpet.

It is an e-magazine which captures

the color, culture and chaos of India.

It blows the trumpet and makes a lot of noise about all things Indian :)

I fell in love with this magazine instantly

for it truly... truly satisfies my lust for colors, and brightness,

besides pleasing my heart which is oh so very Indian !!

Each page is so vibrant and oozes out so much energy

that you can't resist flipping through them again and again and again :)

So here is my 'Mithai Tamasha" (Sweet Show).

Eid celebrations demand "Phirni" for sure :)

Favorite sweet of Lord Ganesha

and so an irresistible part of "Ganesh Chaturthi"

"Onam" Sadya and Payasams a delicious affair!!

"Navratri Bhog becomes special with this sweet nutty kheer :)

A mouth watering sweet for the "Durga Puja " festivities.

 "Dussehra" and Jalebi...a bond unbreakable.

An Integral part of the famous "Karva Chauth" festival.

Gulab Jamun makes the "Diwali " fun and festivities even more special.

So friends how do you find this "Mithai Tamasha" ??

Living simple pleasures of life :)

Hey my dear dear friends

Hope you are enjoying every moment

and weaving some gorgeous...everlasting

memories !!

and making happiness happen  :)

I am so very excited ...

next week I am flying to Delhi

my home...

and the thought of being there...with my loved ones

is just enough to bring that smile on my face :)

I am going to be away for some time

living simple pleasures of life...

and with His grace will be back soon

with memories to cherish forever...

and then I will be ready again

to paint my canvas with the breathings of my heart :)

Dream catchers...

                                             Like woven worlds they come

into her room each night,

bright , one after the other... never ceasing,

until morning light .

She dances and the swirls and the whirls

make her feel like a swan,

the scent of her smile

whispers...she surely CAN .

her feet rejoice

as they take little flights,

her eyes reflect

the glory of sunlight .

Feeling close to the power above

she drowns completely,

into the enchanting melodies...

with poise and oh so gracefully !!

Entering her state of slumber

she lays calm upon her bed

sure ... no bad dreams can enter

will be caught by the dream catcher instead.

Hi friends...

It is very very hot in my part of the world...

what about yours ??

The best thing about staying indoors

is that I can spend endless time with my colors

 and my art,

explore attics in solitude

and enjoy reading the old books...

and sometimes just inhale the quietness...

and I feel it's a luxury denied to many :)

Well SOC is another way of enjoying indoors !!

The prompt this week... Candy Apple Red and Yellow !!

Here is another work in progress  :)
