Budding Wings!

Training myself daily
to taste the deliciousness
of each moment
slowly...very slowly!

Like allowing the chocolate
to melt gently
in my mouth
slowly...actually slowly!

And then I deliberately
take ages to swallow
...that elixir...
it reaches my heart and I follow!

Then a small line
a little stroke
a brush and some colour
and I am mine.

My budding wings
spread a little...everyday
...desire to touch the sky
with heart...one day!

I am sure I have the magic
I am meant to rise!
My love for the sky
will make me fly!

Leaving everything
that weighs me down
I will fly beyond the rainbows
and up above the clouds!

And on my way
I will taste the deliciousness
of that moment
slowly... very slowly!

Chai tamaasha !

My passion has taken another turn!
Ideyna in Arabic stands for "our hands"
It is an absolutely beautiful venture that is bringing incredibly gifted local handicrafters, artists and makers together.

Living in the UAE for many years
Nafisa and Ekta
found themselves bumping into astonishingly talented
 and creative people constantly
So they decided to create a platform
 to help them showcase
and sell
their awesomely handmade products to the world.
Their idea was also to build a community
 where knowledge, resources,
 inspiration and imagination
runs wild while being shared generously.

I am happy to announce
that my "Chai Tamaasha"...the tea tantrums
 is on Ideyna now!!

I am feeling super excited on this new journey.
To those who are visiting me
for the first time here on my blog my "Chai Tamaasha" may sound new.
So I must tell you that
 "Chai Tamaasha...the tea tantrums"
is a story of dramatic transformation
of this tiny little tea bag
which always meets its end in rubbish,
 into a piece of art
which is a treat to the eyes
and makes hearts smile.
Each piece has a distinctive character.
 It is eco-friendly.
It may feel vintage to some and modern to others.
It can be a perfect gift
 for your loved ones
 and the best part is
it can be customized as per the taste!!

"Behind My Eyes"
(...I can see the dreams that I inhaled last night )
available at Ideyna!

"Magic"
("No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle." Winston Churchil)
available at Ideyna!

I am lurrving each mark and every stroke :)

So what are you waiting for
grab a cuppa and join me on this delightful journey with Ideyna :)
I am sure it's going to be classy and fabulous !!

Year Of Me!

Hope all of you are busy making
your December a one to remember...always!
I am sure many of you
must have already set your goals
for the coming new year 2015
In this season of giving...and believing
of sparkles ...and carols
  of dreams....and treats
of joys ...and cheers
I wish all of you the very Best!!
Follow your obsessions...mercilessly!

My goal for 2015
has been favorited by Good Housekeeping Middle East
and they have featured me in their December 2014 issue.
I am sure you all would like to know about it too!
So here I tell how I aim to make 2015 a Year Of Me!
I aim to publish a book of my Illustrated Recipes for kids with special needs.

This is what I told them and they published...

"Children learn a lot more from graphic sources now than in the past.
Art is undoubtedly a way to encourage the process
and the experience of thinking and making things better.
While the child sees the bright,
colourful illustrations, touches the pages ,
listens to the words spoken by his parents or siblings about it
...he would be working on his multi-sensory learning.
And the experience will get even more enhanced
when he actually touches the ingredients
and starts the process of making/ assembling/ plating a dish for himself!

I firmly believe that my recipe illustrations
will not only be a visual feast for these kids
 but also encourage them
to definitely try out a small snack for themselves
and be a "Special Chef" in their own special way.
Since everything right from the ingredients to the directions is painted,
I am sure they would be delighted to follow and try the recipes.
Though some of them would need help
to accomplish this
but I am still confident that they will be really happy at heart!
I hope and sincerely wish my illustrated recipes
 would engage their attention,
make them experience the whole process and help them to be an achiever in the end.

The recipes are going to be eye candy even for the other kids and moms too !!

Each mark of my pencil and every stroke of my brush
would connect me to my true self
and open me up to grace…
and the same kind of magical feeling
should be experienced by those who get to see,
 touch and feel my book.
I don’t want it to be “just another book” tossed aside
 after a quick glance through
and so it is a big challenge that I have given to myself.
The creativity, the colours, the details all need to be worked upon.
It demands a lot of hard work…and I am all set to jump in!
I am making a thorough research on the special areas
so as to make my book substantial, effective, impressive and lovable.
 In short a “delicious delight”!

Finding a publisher who understands
the sentiment behind my book is important too.
I will keep going with the flow
and let my intuitive sense guide me through.
So I am going to look each challenge dead in the eye and give a wink!

 “Just Be”.
You are different and believe me
your different is different than my different.
Whatever you have been blessed with
and can do,
no one else has and can do in the way you can
and that instantly makes it unique and precious.
Pop out,
unravel that YOU within…
 for you are blissfully amazing.
In your eyes is heaven, in your heart...love and compassion.
Feel the dance in your steps and magic on your fingertips…
 every moment of the day.
Did you know that 'glitter' is a color too?
Go love it!
“Sparkle” does ignite a spark...
heart it!
Celebrate being a woman…
evolve…
bloom and bloom in abundance!"

I would love to know what are you aiming at in 2015!!

Rehlatna..."Our Journey"

On the occasion of celebrations
of 43rd National Day of UAE
the Crown Prince of Dubai
 introduced Rehlatna ...meaning "Our Journey".

Now I will you take you
on this journey
which is 2245.5 metres long Graffiti scroll
along the famous Jumeirah Beach Park in Dubai.

Over 150 Graffiti artists
 from all over the world
joined together to set a world record.
The work took the form of the map of the UAE
showing various aspects of the nation’s
culture and traditions
and other areas of development.
The art mural broke the Guinness World Record
for longest panel of Graffiti in the world.

The public could also participate in painting on this monumental work of art.

And here is my Certificate pf Participation!!
Yes I am so  so very happy
to be a part of the making of this world record!!

Hope you enjoyed "Our Journey" :)

Out Of a Box

Another "Out of a box" event...
another chance to let my creative juices flow...
another chance to witness what others thought about it
another chance to experience variety of mediums, textures, colours, styles....etc. etc.
Lucky me :)
Don't be disheartened for I will take you to the journey
and through my lens
show you all the beautiful things I saw !
During "Al Quoz Festival" here in Dubai
"Artry" told us to create art
"Out of a Box"...
and the theme was MIGRATION

So excited as always  I also created this

DELHI TO DUBAI

Migration to Dubai from my home Delhi
was not easy but then adaptability to change is the key.
Instead of dwelling on the negatives
I took it as an adventure.
So began the journey of new dreams,
 new wishes and new hopes…
after all change is absolutely essential to creativity!
 And here I am …
 with sky above me,
earth below me and fire within me
I am all set to see…
to explore…
to do…
and to create myself!

Now I show you the boxes as they looked after installation!!

I hope you enjoyed :)
