'AUM'

The Diva's challenge gave all of us an opportunity to create a tile related to our home/ state/ country !

Now sitting here far ...thousands of miles away...from my beloved country India, this was something which I could instantly connect to...and what better way to depict India than to talk of  'AUM' !

'AUM' or 'OM'  in Sanskrit means ‘One who protects, sustains’. So that which sustains everything is AUM'.

It is the name of the Lord, who pervades your being,who pervades everything in the world.

So , 'AUM' was my tiny little effort in remembrance of my home...

My Raspberry Vanilla Penguins !

After my Rainbow sherbet peacock and Icy mint green flying kite with chocolate hearts its time for My Raspberry Vanilla Penguins  :)
I am really loving these prompts by Kristin at  Summer of Color 2012 not only because I love ice creams but also because it is a lot of fun :)

Recently read a quote :

"Everybody has a dark side and a light side...and this is why human soul so closely resembles a penguin ".

Now I painted them raspberry and vanilla...hmmm... I think I had ONLY the SWEETER side of human soul in my heart while doing so :)

A few days back I had painted a cushion cover for my cozy little sofa ...and the colors so blissfully match with the prompt :) 

The colors do match,don't they ?

I am all set to have a look at what others have created this week :) Its amazing how people can create art which is absolutely unique, although the set of colors to be used remains the same for everybody :)

Challenge accepted!

The Diva's challenge asked us to use "Cadent" in our work. I am not well versed with the official names of tangles and so went to the link she has provided to take the help.

Here is what I came up with.I enjoyed this tangle. Once you get the grip,it just kind of flows on...loved it as always !

Embrace the sky !

Oh! I want to take a flight...

with all my might

Yes...I want to soar...

and do much...much more!

The fairy in me whispers..."you are free '

I fill my lungs ...full...am ready to fly

I smell the sweet air...with butterflies in my hair

I spread my arms to embrace the sky...

I have grown wings 

to take me high...

I don't need to crawl 

when I can ...fly!

With the feel of mist

and a smile on my face 

I float ...so effortlessly

I believe...life is NOT a race!

 Ah yes ! I want to fly !

This week the flavor at The Summer of color is  'Icy Mint Chocolate Chip'.

Now this is quite a refreshing and real cool flavor and I tried to make it cool enough by taking my kite to delicious heights :)

I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart all the lovely people who visited my blog last week and liked my Rainbow sherbet peacock...thank you so much :) 

Chase it ?

Artists' Play Room called for sketches and drawings...so here is a sketch from my sketch book which I am going to color soon!

Happiness,they say, is like a butterfly...the more you chase it the more it flies beyond your grasp but if you stop going after it ...sit quietly...it may come down and flutter around your shoulder ...whispering sweet notes:) 

All you need is a little sunshine...open air to breathe in... freedom...love ... some flowers...and happiness will surround you, invariably!

'Eccentric'' is the challenge

My rainbow sherbet peacock !

The Summer of Color is an 'icy' cool challenge as it has taken its inspiration from 'Ice creams' :)

Now the theme for the first week is the flavour 'Rainbow sherbet' . I love using bright colors in my art especially when the theme here reminds of my very own country India :)

I chose to draw and paint a peacock using the theme colors fuschia, orange, yellow and white.

His rainbow plumage vibrant and beautiful...
His majestic walk elegant and cheerful...
A carnival of glowing colors...feathers of unique fashion
A beauty with a difference ...God's magical creation...

A peacock to me is a constant source pf inspiration.

Thoroughly enjoyed creating a rainbow sherbet peacock :)

I found this tangle quite fun. Once you are at it, it just flows...smoothly ...effortlessly.

I don't know why I am reminded of this quote...

Yes I am a dreamer

with soft but sparkling dreams...

I hold the power 

to dream my dream ...

 I fly against the winds

for I have grown my own wings...

I soar high among the lacy clouds

and feel the whispering breeze

I see a rainbow...paint another

I float...and I breathe...

my lungs full with that sweet scent

and my heart ...all content

I feel His magic

 the sweet notes tinkling in the air

I am blessed ...I am free...I smile 

and to dream again... I dare!

I said I will paint my own rainbows
and find my own song...
and the twinkle in my eyes grows
