Love lives on !

Here is a small story I recently read....

Pencil ✏: I'm sorry.

Eraser : For what? You didn't do anything wrong.

✏Pencil: I'm sorry, you get hurt because of me. Whenever I made a mistake, you're always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose a part of yourself and get smaller and smaller each time.

Eraser: That's true, but I don't really mind. You see, I was made to do this, I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong, even though one day I know I'll be gone. I'm actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying I hate seeing you sad.

Our Parents are like the eraser...
and we children are the pencil.
They're always there for us children,
cleaning up our mistakes.
Along the way they get hurt
 and wear off...
but still they are always there
for us...

No matter how old we get
the abundance of their unconditional  love
  concern...
care ...
stays as it was
 when we were just born...

Now its our turn...
to give back...
we are the ones who have heard their heart beat from inside
and now is the time to listen to the same heart from outside...

Lets give them more...
more of our time
more of our love
more care
more smiles
more hugs

we always talk about making the world better for our kids

lets also act to make this world comfortable for our parents!!

This is an abstract work which I am doing for a dear friend of mine...
(it is really big)
what do you think I should call this painting?

  2. what a lovely story and post. You are so right - everything nowadays is geared towards the children so much so that the elder family members get overlooked.
Your big abstract is beautiful. For some reason when I looked it,it made me think of apple blossom.

  11. As the son of some loving parents and a father of 2 girls, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your analogy of a pencil to sacrificial love. Your page is glorious and can't wait to see your finished abstract piece. As to a name for the latter, for some reason the word "shadows" comes to mind. However, I may change my mind once you're finished. Blessings, my friend!

  13. !I love the story, Ritu. The texture of the paper of the portrait really adds to it - beautiful. I am really terrible at naming pieces... but I like La Abela' suggestion:-)

  15. I love that wonderful, soft portrait. I am very drawn to your abstract piece and also see a cityscape there. That analogy of pencil and eraser to child and parent is just beautiful. HPPF

  16. I loved your beautiful story Rita... and your art.

What to call your picture? 'Oh No!' I see a person going headlong into something!!! I don't know what that says about me!

Looking forward to seeing how it develops!!!
